Welcome to White Palms, a 4,100 square-foot vacation home situated on the hillside above Lahaina, Maui. In collaboration with architect Kasprzycki Designs, we were brought on to this project to actualize the Vancouver clients' dreams of a Napa Valley-inspired modern farmhouse, unlike the Hawaiian-style homes typically found on the island. It was a dream project.
The house features an expansive ocean view as a beautiful backdrop to the home. We were inspired by this to thoughtfully curate a palette of natural and neutral textures and subtle finishes to compliment the panoramic landscape beyond.

The casual California-style home features a vaulted ceiling with exposed truss beams in the open-concept Kitchen, Dining and Great Room, making the space feel open and airy along with a full wall of floor-to-ceiling sliding glazed doors that transitions the inside-to-outside lifestyle seamlessly.

Nods to modern farmhouse details including shiplap paneling, rattan, and warm-toned wood millwork which contrast the natural stone and patterned ceramic flooring in the main living areas and bathrooms.

The unique style of the home, as well as being remotely located from the project site, made communication with the on-site project team paramount to execute all of the the details that define the modern farmhouse aesthetic.
The construction of the home was in the final stages when the tragic 2023 fire in Lahaina engulfed the local area, and was meters away from the project site. This brought several challenges to finalizing the project, but despite the obstacles, we completed the final installation in March 2024 and the clients were thrilled with the result.
